Questions

What question was I exploring?

With the ubiquity of social media for music sharing and a surge in vinyl record curation, interacting with music goes far beyond auditory-only. But what if we could do more than only consume our favorite music, but contribute to it? Such goes my thought behind exploring how to engage fans with my music in more meaningful and creative ways. Synthesia asks users for their input on what colors they hear for a given piece of music.

What did I learn?

This has been a drawn-out process and I've learned quite a bit about building full-stack applications with database storage using React + TypeScript + TailwindCSS + Supabase + Vercel. Arguably my first real foray back into it after a couple years. The real interesting insights will arise from the crowdsourcing!

What feels unresolved?

As of publishing of this artifact, it has collected some rusty joints. More pressingly, I think the overall user interface needs a far better rework than the courier-based, black & white, text-heavy current iteration.
